SMS Terms & Consent
How Birthday Butler uses text messages, how you opt in, and how to stop them.
Who we are
Birthday Butler is a small app that helps parents organize kids' birthday parties — sending invitations, collecting RSVPs, and tracking allergies in one place.
What messages we send
- Login one-time codes — sent to a host's phone number when they sign in at
/login. - Party invitations — sent to a guest's parent when the host adds them to a party and presses "Send SMS".
All messages are transactional. We do not send marketing or promotional SMS.
How users opt in
Two checkboxes capture explicit consent before any SMS is sent:
- Hosts tick a consent box on the login screen before requesting a one-time code:"I agree to receive SMS messages from Birthday Butler for login codes and party-related notifications. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to unsubscribe, HELP for help."

- Guests are added by a host, who must confirm they have the guest's parent's permission before a phone number can be saved:"I confirm this guest's parent has given me permission to text them about this party."

Sample messages
Frequency

Opt out
Reply STOP to any message to unsubscribe immediately. Reply HELP for help. Standard message and data rates may apply.
Privacy
Phone numbers are stored only to send the messages above and are never sold or shared with third parties for marketing.
